This is a portrait of artist Thomas Heald, taken at Coke's Camera Store in Macon, GA.

Thomas Heald

Born in Macon, GA

Thomas Heald was first introduced to fine art through chalk pastel instruction at 8 years old. After exhausting every teacher he came across over the next 15 years, he has earned an associate’s and a bachelor’s degree in studio fine art, developing a style of artmaking characterized by a combination of both introspective thought and never taking the creative process too seriously. Heald currently works in Macon Georgia alongside his local artist-peers. Thomas Heald's latest works speak to the formative nature of life experiences in contrast to the flightiness of memory. The influences that have led to the development of identity are profoundly impactful, however, much of these formative memories are often remembered as glitches or fragments. Thomas remains a practicing artist, student, and founding member of Macon's Ocmulgee Artist Guild.
